It works very well for cycling. I used to keep my phone in the back pocket of my backpack, which protected it from the weather but kept it out of reach without too much trouble. This case has some really strong clips that attach to a thick, padded shoulder strap, and the entire flap has velcro so I don't worry about how secure my phone is. Although it's not fully weatherproof, I wasn't worried about being out in the rain and it helped me get urgent family messages when I was driving to work and get to my camera very quickly when needed. Exactly what I was looking for.
