Often too hard, even from fresh, unopened packaging. My kitty doesn't like working so hard to eat this. She tries so hard to eat them, so obviously they must smell good enough for her to taste them, but it always ends up in a series of: chew, spit, look for a while, chew again, spit out, stare in hopes that I'll give her another treat, try again, and then walk away, leaving a few wet, soggy bits to clean up. I gave up on her. I just bought a bunch of lysine powder and added it to her wet food. Does the trick with less hassle and MUCH cheaper. If you've bought some of these and are trying to get your cat to eat them, I've found a trick that works is breaking them into thirds before offering them to my cat. She can sometimes handle smaller pieces but often eats 2/3 but still leaves me the last small piece to put away. Just use some lysine powder, you'll both be grateful.
