I'm sitting listening to songs from the Pitch Perfect movies. I think a cappella is a really good test of first note. If I can isolate each person's part, that's pure sound. After that I want to try some of the heavier bass types, one of my favorites is Get Low Lil John (don't judge too harshly). They're not as crisp in the lower registers as they are in the mids and highs, but they're still decent. In my experience, clarity is not affected by volume, which means that if you're listening to Pitch Perfect material, turn it down before doing anything by Rebel Wilson. One issue I'd like to mention is that they're pretty finicky about sitting in your ear. It comes with 6 pairs of pads so you can choose the right size for you and I recommend doing this rather than using the standard pads that come with it. For a full sound you need a seal in the duct, otherwise it will sound tinny and flat and it takes a bit of ear tugging, so to speak, to get that right. However, when installed correctly, the sound is pretty good. I also think the range is pretty good. I don't know how to measure but it got me to the other side of our ranch house before it started falling and it's one of the best ranges I've tried. I also found them good for phone use. I always call my husband on the house phone so I can walk in and hear both sides and neither side was lacking in quality. I find them significantly better than the cheaper ones, both in terms of comfort and clarity. If they're within your budget at the time of viewing, I think they're a good option.
