Review on Enhanced Sony 4GB PX Series MP3 Digital Voice IC Recorder With Advanced Built-In Stereo Microphone by Clint Mcloven

In December 2015 I bought a better Philips voice recorder to record college lectures and take voice notes. It was only used a couple of times and then installed for a while as I was taking classes that didn't allow recording. Lastly, I pulled it from sleep mode and found that the device stopped working. How was that possible? The device has been safely removed! I promised not to buy another Philips and looked at both Olympus and Sony. In my case, Sony has conquered the smaller size. As a medical student studying programming, I already have enough books with me to fill the library. The less the better for me. After a little research, I found out that Sony has five models on the market, three of which I considered based on features and good reviews: ICD-PX333, ICD-PX440 and ICD-UX533. I first bought the ICD-PX333 from my local Best Buy. This model was literally returned the next day. Not that there was anything wrong with the device, but the menu navigation was difficult and the playback sound was inadequate. Also, the instructions consisted of a simple quick start guide that also mentioned a nonexistent case/bag. I then explored the remaining two Sony recorders on my list. While I was very excited to evaluate the ICD-UX533's capabilities, I had a feeling I wouldn't like this device either. Although a higher quality device will recharge the battery, the actual battery life will be much shorter before the device needs to be charged. Other things I didn't care about about the ICD-UX533 were the rear speaker placement and a glossy finish that would likely be a fingerprint magnet. In the end, the ICD-PX440 won. Came in the mail yesterday. Its instructions were slightly more extensive than those of the previous model and were written in both English and other foreign languages. Luckily I can understand the device just enough to start navigating through the menus to use the device. For those of you wondering which device to buy, the playback quality of the ICD-PX440 is much better than the PX33. I believe this device will probably best meet my needs from the Sony range. UPDATE: Voice Recognition (VOC) doesn't seem to work on the model sent to me. It could be a user problem, but I probably have the problem. I will try to replace the device and report back the results.
