These shorts are made from a very comfortable, flowy fabric. The colors look great, and the pockets are a good size. The shorts themselves, however, are sized too large. My son usually wears a youth large, but these were significantly too big for him, even when using the drawstring in addition to the elastic waist band. We will save them, and hopefully they will fit in a couple of years. I think if you choose a size or two smaller than your child wears, these would probably be good for gym, sports, playing, and just living life as a kid.
