I bought this for my (almost) 5 year old daughter. She loved it and it kept her busy for hours. She finds hidden pictures pretty well for her age. I know the book says 6-8 years but she can find them all although some of them take a while. I would say that about 95% of this book can be read by a child who can't read. Most hidden image pages show an image of the item you're looking for, but some of them just list the words. The mazes are very difficult for their age and more suitable for the stated age group. There are also dot-connected pages that require two-digit addition and subtraction. This is well beyond my daughter's ability, so she didn't even try. Probably over 90% of this book is hidden images. There are also a few mazes, paint-by-numbers, tic-tac-toe, hangman, and connect-the-dots pages, but the vast majority of the pages are hidden pictures. The answers to all the steps are on the back cover if you need them. Also the cover pictured is different from the one I received but the inside is the same. While a few pages above my daughter's level, I would say this book is definitely worth reading. This is a very thick book with many tasks. As far as I can see this is one of the best options for that.
