I bought these recently. The fit is perfect for me - they were a bit tight at first so I soaked them in hot water and wore them until dry and now they are fine. I also dyed them black with regular RIT fabric dye, which darkened them nicely. Decent gloves that can withstand a little workshop and touring use seem well made. Haven't used them in the summer yet but they feel pretty cool in the hand and would probably be fine in most spring, summer and fall locations. As for the fit, if I take a flexible tape measure and wrap my hand just below my knuckles then make a fist, size 8.5 inches. The small one was just perfect - I would definitely not want to go down a size and would only go up a size if I wanted a roomier glove. .
