My wife and I have been using chlorine tablets for years. Keep your cup nice and clean. However, chlorine corrodes tank components. Reds hold up best, but eventually fail because they're sitting in chlorine. Pops every few years even with the best red cork products. They hold up well, but after a few years they fail. Upgraded bolts to stainless steel and bolt washers to chlorine resistant red. After about 5 years on holiday we had a leak in the tank bolts. 10,000 damage to the wooden floor and we have decided to stop using chlorine. So far we have not found this product. Chlorine does not get into the tank. Goes straight into a porcelain bowl so no problem and just a clean bowl. The best of both worlds: a clean bowl and no chlorine in the tank. The tabs sit in this device and the water destroys the tabs. When you flush the water into the device, it flows straight into the bowl. New stainless steel tank bolts, red plugs, red washers and a red tank gasket cup and this product should last our 4 toilets for a lifetime. I wish I had found this product before $10,000.
