Where I work, there is a lot of compressed air equipment. A lot of. LOTSSSSSSS To the untrained ear, this sounds identical to one of these. In fact, it's probably about 1/3 louder, with the same hiss. For those who know dB, that means you cut 4-5 dB, which is 100% worth it and about as good as cheap earbuds. Most stationary units also have a 1/4" NPT outlet. I didn't use threaded tape as I figured it should leak, but most of the air escapes through the spongy part. For those concerned about performance loss, you can easily blow them out with your mouth (<1 psi, if anyone can find those good muffle filters (often seen on vacuum pumps) that make it almost silent for under $5 a piece, it'll be great. Meanwhile, less than $1 each, it's amazing!
