Since I used this tape for Christmas crafts, I didn't need the durability of the standard silver version of tape. I was surprised at the difference between colors and thickness. From the same brand (duck) I had several colors with three different thicknesses and different amounts of mesh or fiber in the tape. My do-it-yourself project was so simple it didn't really matter - I wanted to use color combinations for the team - but when I was doing a more complex or challenging project, those thickness differences bothered me. In any case, buy several rolls, I got free shipping and ended up paying about $2. 50 less per roll than my local discount store. Overall I was happy with the product and the offering.
