Compared to other briefs I find this brand and model to be the most comfortable. It is dense and soft, and the lining is the least abrasive. I prefer to swim in open water and bring them with me every time, no matter where. Due to the properties of salt water, you will still need to apply petroleum jelly or something similar on longer sea voyages. Take the size chart seriously. Measure your waist and buy accordingly. It will feel tight, but hit the water a few times as instructed and it will stretch to the desired fit. Note: I bought these at my local sporting goods store a few years ago. The same 78% recycled Eco-Nylon and 22% Xtra Life Spandex, but made in Vietnam, not Sri Lanka. No discernible differences.
