I had the EQ7 until my computer had problems and the program was lost. It didn't bother me as I hated this program, it wasn't user friendly. No EQ8 in this post, but I wanted to design with whatever fabrics I have (I have a lot of them). Without this book I would be confused and upset. I work through the lessons in the book and find out how much this program can do. For the first two days, I designed the quilt using fabric images I imported from the internet. I can't scan yet, otherwise I would use my own fabric. I also recommend the Blocks Library book as it is difficult to view all the blocks with the program. I'm glad I gave EQ another chance. It will be fun!
