Review on 🧺 Moen 18-Inch Single Towel Bar in Brushed Nickel Finish: DN7718BN by Betsy Tran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If Moen doesn't do it, do it yourself!

I have Moen shower and bath fittings so I only bought them to use the ends. We use large bath towels, but 36" towel rails are $130-$200 and none of them fit my Moen gear. I've used metal tubing or 1/2" copper tubing with wooden dowels inserted in it for rigidity in the past, but neither combination has worked. I found a massive 1/2"OD 36" long chrome plated iron bar (http://www.amazon.com/National-Hardware4005BC-Plated-Steel-Smooth/dp). /B002CTUBM4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441563695&sr=8-1&keywords=National+Hardware4005BC+1%2F2%22+x+36%22+Coat+Steel+Smooth+Bar). I cleaned it with alcohol, sanded it lightly, then finished it with a satin nickel enamel and then two coats of satin polyurethane. No, it doesn't fit perfectly, but it's covered with towels and not visible. Aluminum would have been better but I couldn't find a 1/2".

Pros
  • MATCH COLLECTION: Coordinates with other Moen bathroom accessories
Cons
  • Update available
