I've been using this product for about three months and recently had a problem. I was walking my dog and charging my phone in the last few minutes of charging. When I grabbed the base to pry it off the phone, it was hot enough to burn, forcing me to let go of my fingers. I immediately unplugged it from the outlet and the phone. Heat was only present in the area where the connector made contact with my phone, both my phone and the connector. I left this cable with one, but I'm not sure if it's worth using. Unfortunately, my phone no longer charges with a cable. This situation seems to have destroyed the charging part of my phone. I also had a cracked screen so repairing it will probably cost as much as buying another phone. I usually have a phone for about three to five years before needing a new one, but in this situation the phone only lasted a year for the price I originally paid for it. My husband is going to Africa next year and I can do all the repairs in this country for less than $15. If I took it to the US for repair it would cost over $100. The new phone costs $150. I do not recommend this charging cable.
