When I first got this camera it was really worth it because phone lenses were way worse back then but after 5 years it's hard to recommend buying a dedicated point and shooting unless you really need an optical zoom and can't afford one of the few phones that have it. Otherwise, most high-end phones have better sensors and software, and a range of extras for the money you would pay for a dedicated camera. I have to say that one plus that isn't easy to replicate is the tripod mount. I set this thing up to record long videos like a makeshift security camera, and that would be difficult to manage on a cell phone without a complicated, expensive mount. This camera has a standard screw mount that most cameras support. It also has removable batteries, unlike most modern phones.
