Does it work?: Cats

To be honest I'm not sure if this thing works or not. I bought it because my family just moved to a new house. One of my dogs is in the cabin during the day and the other can't. She has severe separation anxiety, she has chewed her way out of several kennels, smashed walls, scratched doors and floors and when my husband is not home she panics all the time that he is not there even when I am home. If I'm not at home either, she tries to climb onto our sofa or into our bed. I also don't like her because she's hairy and I hate hair on my furniture. We solved the sofa problem a long time ago by buying a stingray rug (it shocks you and it's awesome - buy seriously if you're trying to solve a sofa problem). However, they don't seem to make the scat mat big enough for a king bed. We just bought a new bed and like I said just moved into a new house. The new home has French doors to the master bedroom. The dog has already stopped getting on the sofa because of the scat mat (which we don't even have to turn on anymore, she's so scared of it), so our bed has become a new target. HELL. NO. We tried to close the doors but she pushed them open. Then one day my husband was trying to lock the doors when he was feeling brave and she was scratching them. I could cry. I bought this in a desperate attempt to keep her out of our bed when we're not home and never scratch that expensive door again. It is strange. It's huge because it's for a large double bed. It's sizzling and noisy when you put it on and take it off. But it takes about 10 seconds a day to get it out from under the bed and spread it out before you leave it in the morning - not too bad. Every day I close the bedroom door (don't lock it all the way). Every day when we come home, the bedroom door is open. I know she was there, but I can't tell if she was on the bed or not. I pull down this rug and the blankets and pillows don't move and the hair isn't visible. I don't know if she lies on it all day. I honestly can't say. But if she wants to lie on a crumpled, uncomfortable thick blanket all day and I can't even tell she did it, then I'm fine with that. It can't be changed now, but at least I feel like I've won this battle. If you have such a crazy dog, you should consider buying one. It may or may not work to scare the pet away, but it will keep the fur away!
