good for some things, not for others
The peeler does a great job on apples. Other things like potatoes or pickles won't work. The peeler is too light and too short. When the cucumber is straight, you can put 1/2 in the vegetable peeler. If you bend it at all, the blades will ricochet and shut up. A new comment needs to be added - a vegetable peeler does a good job on potatoes. Last night I put in a medium sized roast potato and the peeler did a great job. The potatoes just came in.
