The I wanted countertop model because other brands of filters that fit the end of your faucet take up too much space so I thought a separate spout would be ideal, but this countertop model should sit on the rim of your sink so it clutters your sink with pipes. The hose should run from the faucet head and around the back of the faucet and then to the canister. I tied it to a faucet and it worked, but the device sitting on the edge of the sink clogged it which was the main reason it came back. If the tube was long enough you could put the canister on the tray, but that's not the case. The equipment and equipment were of high quality and a perfect fit. No leaks. The spout is thin so the spray is small, perfect for a cup of tea but not so perfect when filling a kettle.
