These shock absorbers are hard. I ordered a stock spring for my 01 Road King, I'm 230lbs, my wife is 130. Handling seemed improved compared to the stock shocks but as far as bumps go we hit a bit, these shocks are stiff. I'm glad I got the stock springs instead of the recommended heavy springs. I spent over 600.00 on them so thought they would smooth out bumps a bit but we are often made to sit when we hit bumps. I've been wearing them for a couple of months (2000 miles) hoping they will "break in" but it hasn't happened yet. If you're looking for a smooth ride, look elsewhere. I am tempted to return my 20 year old shock absorbers. to see the difference. 08/12/2020 I sent these shock absorbers back to Progressive 4 weeks ago with my complaint and only got them back today. The only paperwork I received said "fixed". I put them on my bike and rode for 2 hours and now the bike rides great.
