Review on 🧤 Auzilar Silicone Cooking Gloves: Heat Resistant BBQ Kitchen Oven Mitts for Grilling, Baking, and Barbecue by Ernest Etienne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great gloves with a small blemish.

I cook a lot in my smoker and on a large grill and needed a comfortable, flexible, heat-resistant glove that doesn't spill. There are many grilling mitts on the market that are heat resistant to over 500 degrees, but this is just a layered fabric and you can't take a piece of meat out of the smoker without the hot juices quickly seeping through and burning you. But most silicone waterproof gloves are too bulky or uncomfortable to wear as anything other than a glorified pot holder. These gloves are a great compromise between waterproof silicone and flexible, heat-resistant material. Pros: These gloves are waterproof and heat resistant, and the inside of the gloves is lined with material to make them comfortable to wear. Although silicone and too bulky to be considered nimble, they are more flexible than most silicone gloves and flexible enough to use spatulas and tongs while wearing. Best of all, I can skim an entire roast, breast, or stack of ribs right off the smoker without burning my hands and not spilling the juices. I can also just wash my hands with gloves on for a quick and easy clean. Not so good: Short fingers. I'm a man with what seems to me medium sized hands for a man. The fingers on these gloves are about 1/2 to 5/8 inch shorter than my fingers from tip to knuckle. This means that "the knuckle or the point of flexion is between my knuckle and the knuckle of the index finger. While this isn't an endgame issue, it does mean a much more restricted range of motion for anyone with even moderately sized hands. I wish they would suggest a small and a large size and the thumbs had a bit more finger length for larger hands. To be honest most men have the same finger length problem, I certainly don't have "long" fingers or unusually large hands These gloves are five stars for those with small hands and would probably be five for me and large hands if the finger length issue weren't so obviously a problem.
