I'm a relatively new wine lover (under 5) and purchased this product to enhance my home made wine as well as store bought wine. I usually buy wine in the store for $10-15 (750ml). I have found this product to absolutely improve the wine. I did a blind test between sparkling and non-sparkling wine on both myself and my girlfriend and we both chose sparkling wine. It doesn't make crappy wine taste like $100 a bottle, but it definitely improves the quality of the wine I drink. This accelerates the maturation of the taste of homemade wine. I usually age it for 6-12 months for a red, but I almost always drink a bottle beforehand. If you've ever tasted an unaged house wine, then you know that it should have a developing body, but should be sharper than the same wine after aging. I have found that this product ages the taste of wine.
