I needed a quality battery tester and charger while working on the charging system on my 1961 Ford Falcon replacing the 5.0 liter V8 engine. This device was perfect for my needs. The test function is great as you can unplug the power cord and just plug the device into the battery to test. The tester is battery powered, so no external power supply is required. It quickly determines the battery status. I had an older Optima in my car and wasn't sure if that was part of the problem, but the charger helped rule it out (probably an alternator problem). Plug the device into an outlet and now I can change the battery. The charging process is automated and the display shows all charging data during operation. I am very impressed with this tester, highly recommend!
