Firstly the mini split should have been in two boxes - an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. I only received the outdoor unit and my first impression was that the box was damaged and looked like it had traveled around the world twice! When I opened the box and started removing the covers to inspect the refrigerant valves and electrical connections, I found that the plastic valve cover was broken in several places and the metal supports were bent. Next, I examined the box and found that the seller had removed the old shipping labels in several places in order to resend the returned item. I think it's a bad business model to play music with an item that costs over $1,000 assuming a few dollars keep the broken product. I quickly returned the block before the music stopped and I was left with the damaged item. As for the Bosch unit itself, my preliminary inspection showed that the fittings connecting the piping kit to the refrigerant valves were non-standard sizes, i.e. H. With both standard and metric wrenches, one wrench was too small and the next larger wrench was too big. This was a problem as I don't want to use a crescent wrench on something that needs to be of a specific torque. There have also been conflicting SEER reviews. The Revain add-on lists a SEER rating of 22, but other reports on the exact same unit have a SEER rating of 20.7. Finally, if you decide to go with this Bosch 12k / 230V mini split, you will need a 1/4" and 1/2" wiring set, not 1/4" and 3/8". I've seen reviews and FAQs that list both sizes. I can confirm the back is 1/2 inch. This is helpful as the unit does not come with a wiring harness and you must order it prior to installation.
