I bought this little tripod specifically for use on a cellphone holder. For that purpose it's fantastic. The rating I give reflects the price. It's very cheap, so the fact that it's made of plastic isn't a disadvantage at this price point. Yes, I would prefer it to be metal, but then it would cost more and probably weigh more. The fact that it's small, light, and cheap makes it the best I've found for a honeycomb gimbal. It's big enough for me to lower the gimbal down with my phone, but small enough to pick it up later, and doesn't have much extension when closed. I've used SmoothQ, but I think the same would go for any phone-sized gimbal.
