If you're like me you've got a smartphone that still has a 3.5mm audio jack. You may also have purchased an enclosure with a slightly larger cutout than the outlet. The problem is that most adapters like this one are big enough to fit a 1/4" plug and don't taper to fit through the cutout in your case, making a clean connection. This little guy solves that problem because the protrusion on the end of the connector is narrow enough to fit in the case cutout and make a good connection. If the cutout on your case is still too small, you can easily fix it with a drill if They are mechanically inclined, otherwise the components are top notch and the construction feels very solid with good strain relief at both ends.
