grater lasted about 6 months and worked well for that time. The way it's built is a little annoying because the handle can be detached to make it easy to clean, but that means it just keeps coming loose in your hand when you try to use it . Then the metal cylinder, so to speak, no longer stays in place and begins to slide. The cheese clogs inside and then doesn't grate at all. We have tried disassembling and adjusting it several times but to no avail. It went in the trash.
