Fire Hazard: my feedback

We used this machine for a few days without any problems. Then, one day my husband put baby down for a nap and turned on the sound machine, not realizing it had come unplugged in the process. She woke up an hour later crying. When I went in and picked her up, I noticed a burning smell. I checked the heater and started sniffing around the power outlets. It was only when I stepped on the end of the power cord for the sound machine and it burned my foot did I realize that’s what was burning. It had started melting the machine, and when it came out it landed on the carpet, burning a hole in it. She sleeps in a pack n play that rests on the floor, and the cord landed right next to it. It’s so scary to think what could’ve happened if she hadn’t woken up, or if the cord hadn’t come out of the machine. The instructions say to keep it plugged in for continuous play. It was only after this incident that I read the warning, which says keeping it plugged in is a fire hazard.

Pros
  • ‎3.48 x 1.38 x 4.02 inches
Cons
  • The device may not have the required volume for all babies
