After about 18 years it's time to say goodbye to my Naugybeast office chair that I loved but had too many cracks in the armor for my liking. I ordered this chair based on the reviews and the description. Pros: 1. This is a durable chair. To be clear, for those who believe the wood is made from the bones of the Naugybeast, it is not. They use some kind of hardwood and it's strong.2. Faux leather (I think it's called "glued leather" meaning it's a mix of leather and man-made materials) has a strong feel. The hardwood 5-leg base may seriously hurt someone if it falls. Firm again.3. The chair is a very comfortable chair.4. Excellent Value for $$$$Cons: 1. It's made in China and ships a million miles. There were a few nicknames I could live with. If the faux leather was torn or torn I would return it.2. This is a HIGH seat chair. Even with the air strut, the lowest position is about 1 inch from where I want it. I have a great leather desk with a center hood and now I have to sit a little more upright because of my legs. not to grind. If you are far from 6 feet tall, your legs will dangle and you will lose your power over other people. I'm 1.80m tall and otherwise it fits perfectly. (Addendum: I've had the chair for a week now and the foam is a bit torn. The height is actually pretty damn close to perfect! Still 4 stars because of the scuffs involved.) 3. Backrest adjustment, names only. It really doesn't do much. Good news? You really don't need it. Assembly tip from someone who has screwed up a lot of these devices in the past: 1. An L-shaped plate is pre-assembled to the back of the upright part of the chair. You attach this plate to the base plate that you previously attached to the bottom of the chair. Securely attach the base plate to the underside of the chair before attaching the chair back to it. But attach the back of the chair VERY LOOSE to the base. Here, people get frustrated that the holes in the armrest don't line up with the sides of the backrest and the bottom of the chair. A lot of play is deliberately built into the brace that attaches the chair's backrest to the underside, giving you enough room to fix the armrests in place when they're loosened. 2. Screws come shrink wrapped with cardboard labels. Leave the screws in and only remove them one at a time when in use so you don't lose track of which screw goes where.3. Gather it on a rug or bed or something soft. Enough said.4. This is important: based on past experience, do not try to "match" the screws and threads. The worst thing you can do is line up the holes a bit and then try to use a thread with an allen wrench to try to "pull" it into place. This is the best way to break the threads. If the holes line up properly, you should be able to tighten the screw at least 3 or 4 full turns with your fingers if you follow my instructions above. Until you sit in this chair for a while, the air spring will simply be guided by gravity to the base of the chair. Do not lift the chair by the cushions without grasping the base, otherwise it will fall. After sitting in a chair for a while, this shouldn't be a problem. (Addendum: A week later I am VERY happy with this chair and so are you!
