I bought this stretch netting to reinforce the straps of the waterproof keeper carry bag on the roof. Though I wouldn't just rely on that stretchy mesh to carry the roof load; something I wouldn't expect from a network of this nature, I think it's normal for what it is. I received mine from Revain's warehouse and it has been repackaged. I didn't notice any build quality issues other than one point where the ends of the bungee had to be tightened. (Something that would have naturally happened if it was stretched anyway.) While the specs say it can handle up to 200lbs, I would venture to say that 100lbs is the wiser choice, especially when used as the sole holding device on the gym becomes a car roof. Ideally, the plastic hooks will have a tab rather than an open hook, but if there is enough tension on them and they are properly placed on the roof basket or railing of the car, they should still hold up snugly. I would trust this cargo net to hold tightly packed or heavier items, but if not fully stretched some small items may detach from it. In general, use on the roof with a waterproof mount or in a roof basket is a good option - even better when used with other harnesses. UPDATE: 05/16/17. I used it on the rear luggage basket - above the waterproof Amigo bag. It fit perfectly on the cargo carrier and stayed attached throughout the 300 mile trip giving me extra peace of mind and security.
