This is without a doubt one of the best filter media your money can buy. They have some installation issues in 3rd party cabinets, but it's pretty easy to put together a set of foam pads in the filter housing (Honeywell in my case) to take care of that. If you don't have a good fit in your closet, you'll get a bypass filter and probably won't get the full performance of the filter. The charcoal coating on this filter helps with odors a bit, but honestly is its main selling point. This filter has PM2.5 performance for me and even PM1.0 performance. I have several HEPA filters at home to control pet hair and dust with PM10, PM2.5 and PM1.0 sensors. Comparing this filter to Honeywell MERV13 filters, I see a significant reduction in PM2.5 and PM1.0 levels when my fan is running to supply outside air. I also see less dust in the house, but since it's not exactly HEPA, you'll need to add a HEPA installation throughout the house or install HEPA filters in every room to really get rid of the dust.
