Review on 💾 Macally PHR-250CC: 2.5" IDE Hard Drive Enclosure with Firewire and Hi-Speed USB by Julio Roberts

Used to upgrade the hard drive in a Mac Mini PPC. Worked as expected, loaded via firewire. Most PDAs can't boot from USB, so this was the perfect solution. The speed seems almost as fast as if the drive were internal. The standard disk utilities in OS X worked great for formatting and transferring data. The blue/red/purple activity indicator was really too bright, maybe they could work on that. The processing quality is excellent, everything fits. I didn't need a driver disk or manual. The housing is so small that only 9.5 mm high discs fit into it. Most of them are this size, but some very large capacity models are taller and will not fit. If you need a good little case for a standard 2.5 inch PATA drive, you should be happy with this one.
