Installation instructions are minimal but there are pictures of some mounting options. I installed one for a friend and liked the light so much I bought another - and the two brackets that came with were not quite the same. The first had a steel "plug" on the end with a knock out hole for a 1/2" adapter to which I easily attached a Hydrotite liquid tight strain relief cable and this "plug" had 2 small screw holes that went through 2 Holes at the end of the bow - very neat!The second one I bought had nothing at all on that end of the pipe to attach a fitting to.I used the same Hydrotite joint and screwed in a 1/2 to 3/4 -PVC fitting on and used tape to push the pipe in and push it in. I then used tape on the outside to make it more secure.I think I could drill a small hole in the pipe and put a short metal screw in but i don't see it coming out and water can't flow uphill so that's ok If you mount the lantern directly to a pole there is a metal plate that attaches with the same two screws w ird used to attach the lantern to the pipe, and has a 1/2" knockout hole for you to attach a hydrotite or other line fitting to . EXCELLENT light - very bright but not obtrusive. I hope the photos help you with the installation.
