Review on 🎧 Audio-Technica ATH-CKS5TWKH Wireless In-Ear Headphones with Enhanced Bass, Khaki by Shannon Taylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Longtime Audio-Technica fan

These are my second true wireless headphones I've had, the first being the TOZO T10 which were a good pair but lacked functionality. All it did was play/pause music and answer/reject/end calls and I rarely used the latter but I have to say the sound quality from these headphones was great. Now for the CKS5TW, Audio-Technica's brand new true wireless headphone set designed for my listening pleasure. I was expecting a sound that would knock my previous headphones out of the water, but unfortunately I was completely blown away by how low the volume was, even with my phone set to maximum. That's what I'd say if I didn't pay attention to the fact that these headphones have an independent volume control. Because of the T10s and their lack of functionality, in this case a volume control, I used to just toss the T10s in my ears without even thinking about what I was doing with the CKS5TW, leaving me unaware of the volume level on the headphones themselves. . After trying out some bass heavy, mediocre playing songs and fiddling with some settings on my phone, I turned to the guide and found a solution to my problem (I should have done that first). With headphone volume at maximum and acceptable phone level, I repeated the same playlist and BOOM, that's it! The smacks and smacks I craved ran through my head from ear to ear, achingly bright. The experience I've just had was what I expected straight out of the box, with maximum volume and a bass-inducing headache. Audio-Technica, a company known for its premium sound and products, is back. To think that I was about to get them back for something as trivial as the low volume makes me so stupid. Well, on the other hand, like the T10, although to be honest this can be an issue with almost all true wireless headphones, you can hear static noise most clearly when the headphones are in standby mode. It's not a deal breaker for me, although I can't say that for someone who can't stand static producing headphones in this price range.
