Review on Pyle Expo Sports Action Camera by Michael Zambrano

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great camera! Buy that, not gopro! Charge the battery using a USB outlet. Your computer's USB ports are not delivering enough amperes.

Great little camera if you're looking for something like a GoPro at a fraction of the price. User friendliness. It's easy to figure out what the buttons do. It's true that charging the battery is a bit wonky BUT I was able to read the FAQ on the Pyle website and get in touch with the folks at Pyle quickly (which works fine in Brooklyn) and the battery shouldn't charge through the den USB port of the computer. It takes 2 amps to charge the battery efficiently and they recommend a USB port that outputs up to 2 amps (USB ports are typically 1 amp). I agree that they should equip you with a camera. Also, the camera does not indicate when the battery is fully charged. Therefore, you should keep an eye on it so that it does not overheat with charging times of more than 3 hours. When charging, you have to check the battery level. You can get around this by contacting pyle and they can sell you a real charger that you put the battery in and that will stop charging the battery when it's fully charged. I also got an extra battery pack from them. Not too expensive. These batteries are made from lithium polymer (Li-Po) and are quite high quality so they don't behave like regular rechargeable batteries. I get about 1 hour 20 minutes of battery life when recording in 1080p at 60 fps. I wish they would explain all these things in the specs or at least provide these accessories along with the camera. I am very happy with this product and did not have to pay a lot of money for these gopros which usually come without mounting accessories.
