I didn't have high hopes after all the stories I've heard about dogs running over and over these invisible fences, but it really works on our beagle. I am very impressed. We followed the instructions and spent several days practicing and getting to know the fence. Our dog settled in very quickly after three or four 15 minute sessions. Our final test for her was to kick the ball over the line a few times and see if she would stop without crossing the line while chasing after it. We needed them to do a good job, get out and hunt our chickens and kittens. I would advise you to ignore the notes they send along with the product. There aren't enough of these and our dog just wanted to get them off the ground. I used a can of white spray paint to mark where the discharge zone begins. and it worked very well. The dog even sensed the danger! The color is gradually fading and now our dog knows the boundaries without the need for white lines. So throw those flags away or let your dog play with them and buy a white spray can. We have been using this invisible fence for about 4 weeks now.
