Review on Relax And Rejuvenate With Foot Bath Spa: Heat, Massage Rollers, Pumice Stone & More! by Abdirahman Mensah

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ehh, it's decent, but also disappointing.

I'm writing this as my feet are submerged during my very first use of this foot tub. It has five features I'd like to discuss: heat, bubbles, rollers, stone, and infrared. The heat is more than sufficient. At 107°, I found my feet becoming uncomfortable and slightly itchy due to the heat, so I was about to dial it down, but just then I could feel the water cooling down, so I let it be as it eased into a more comfortable temperature. I don't believe the thermostat is accurate, since I could definitely feel the water's temperature changing as it cycled from hot to cooling, all the while the display said a constant 107°, which my feet told me was definitely not true. However, what other reviews report about the heat working well is quite true, no doubt about that. The bubbles don't really add much feel-good factor to the experience other than a few secondary effects. The motor that produces them creates a very light vibration in the tub (and of course a paired humming sound). The bubbles also produce a soothing sound when they break at the water surface (and research has shown that the sound of moving water activates tryptophan, so that's a relaxing bonus). But the bubbles do not really register enough on my soles to feel like they are a strong selling point. The rollers also leave much to be desired. I have average size feet for an adult man (shoe size 11), and I can only roll my feet over them so much before my toes bottom out on the inside front curve of the tub, where my feet then curl inward toward each other: there's not enough room in the tub to really enjoy the rollers deep in my foot arches where I would like most to feel them, so their shiatsu function isn't really actualized, at least not for me---disappointing if you're buying this for its massage function. The pumice stone is a nice touch, allowing you to hike up either of your heels in turn for a light scrub, but again, I feel like the inner dimensions of the tub limit its use/ enjoyment, and, again, I do not have big feet. I find that almost every time I use the stone, the inner arch of that foot grazes the plastic housing of the heater, which can be a little uncomfortable if it's during a heating cycle.I'm not sure what the infrared lights are supposed to do, health benefit-wise, I think their claims are more subtle and undetectable, but I will say they add a slight red glow to the footbath which I imagine lends a nice relaxing mood to an evening spent after a hard workday.I strongly recommend using the tub over non-carpeted floor, or putting down a thick towel of some sort underneath it on carpet, since water can easily get sloshed over the rim, especially if you move your feet across the rollers, activate the bubbles feature, and hike your heels up intermittently to use the stone.Overall, this footbath may be okay as an entry-level product for a homebody who wants something basic, but I'm a self-employed labor contractor with a busy, on-my-feet-all-day, heavy-duty worklife so maybe my foot-needs are a bit more intensive than average. This tub feels too weak for me and I'm kind of neutral on whether I should keep it, versus return it, which I think is a red flag in and of itself. A buyer should be able to quickly determine whether they're going to keep a product when reflecting on its performance, otherwise their money is probably better off pursuing their needs elsewhere. Five stars could be earned in an updated model if the themostat was more accurate, the bubbles/vibration stronger on the soles, the rollers' configuration changed to allow for better utility deep in foot arches, and the pumice stone enlarged or moved to a different spot.Is the tub worth $50? I guess. Maybe, not really, kind of, but not though.? 🤷‍♂️
