Really nice suitcase. Courtesy of the pandemic, I haven’t traveled at all but with this new suitcase addition. I’m looking forward to it.Over the years I’ve traveled a bit. I had old soft sided suitcases whose wheels only went in one direction. Boy that was frustrating going down the aisle of a plane. You also couldn’t reliably push them upright while in line.Next I got some hard sided clamshell ones that had great wheels but I didn’t understand the implications of the clam shells. Suddenly you couldn’t set your suitcase on a suitcase stand and just flip open the top, as the top weighed as much as the bottom. It would flip over the carrier. Also could not put them on a dresser, as the weight of the top would slide the bottom right off the bottom. I had taken to leaving mine open on the floor or the spare twin bed just to access it.You were also limited to packing items only as big as the smallest side, not the entire depth. I learned not to like clamshell suitcases.So this rant leads up to why I now have this suitcase. It should be obvious. It has great wheels and it is hard -sided, but unlike other hard-sided suitcases it is not a clamshell. It has an opening like more traditional suitcases, with a light top and deep cavity.At first I wondered why they didn’t just make the top, just a shallow clamshell, but by leaving the the entire structure of the frame in one piece it is very structurally strong. Less likely to twist & break. Actually when you look at this suitcase it is like they fastened a clamshell suitcase together and just added an opening on one end. Super solid.Inside you have two shallow sections in the cover.Both measure approximately 10-½” x 12”. One has an open mesh. The other does too with a clear plastic liner for potentially wet items. Both have single tang zippers of 10” long.The main compartment roughly measures 17” x 24 under the 13-¾” x 21” edge that is the opening where the cover attaches. You have a small zippered bag in here 10-½” wide by 7” deep with a 9” single tang zipper providing access.You have the zipper that allows access past the liner of the inside of the suitcase, Presumably to allow airport personnel to search there.There is a single adjustable strap to hold your stuff in. It is not elasticized (some are).There are two straps limiting the travel of the cover, so you to decide to let it open to 90 degrees or flip right back.The two tanged zipper that secures the cover has long narrow tangs. Easy to grab, but a bit thin. They seem structurally strong but the holes to secure them to the zipper seem thin. I just get concerned as this is a checked bag size and things get banged around.The pass code is 3 digits and easy to set. Release is a button.You have sliding plastic handles on the side and top. Feet on the side when placed there. Rolling handle adjusts to 33, 35, 37 & 40-½”. When fully pushed in, it is locked unless the button pushed.The wheels are narrow but rubberized two spin around a pivoting center on all 4 corners. It is very responsive to movement.Also I opted to get my suitcase in a creamy white. While it might get quite dirty in use, I can spot it on the serpentine baggage carousel
