Review on πŸ”’ Steel Privacy Cover for Shacke Luggage: Optimal Travel Accessory for Enhanced Protection by Tammy Jones

Best of the three tags we compared

My wife and I just ordered these Shacke luggage tags and two others in genuine Travelambo leather and stylish microfiber leather. All three sets were returned free of charge so we could compare them and only keep the ones we like best. Turns out those shack tags were the ones we kept. We didn't like them at first because they were thick rubber instead of leather. However, Shacke's tags best suited our goal: to buy highly durable tags that stand out and allow our bags to be remotely identified at airport baggage carousels and other baggage lines on buses and cruise ships. We ordered yellow tags to create a striking contrast to our black luggage. The Shacke tags were the lightest shade of yellow and are built like a tank, with metal grommets where a loop of wire runs through the main tag and flip-up ID cover. The wire loop holds the ID sleeve securely in place, but also allows enough slack for someone to look under the cover to see our ID info without unscrewing the wire loop. I screwed the wiring harness connectors tightly and also wrapped them with 3M insulating tape to protect them from loosening. Loctite screw lock can also be used as an alternative to adhesive tape. Another reviewer noted that the shacke tags are a little clumsy. They weigh 1.5 ounces. per label, compared to about 1 ounce. per day for the other tags we have covered. We decided that 0.5 oz. per tag is a reasonable weight gain for a well folded tag with a secure metal loop.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
