The seller could improve the perception of this lamp simply by providing photos of all 6 sides of the box. Nowhere in the description is this lamp referred to as a shower spotlight or wide-angle spotlight. I need spotlights, not extra wide spotlights. For an office or living room, this plastic frosted ball shower probably won't work for you. I really wanted this to be the perfect solution with color temperature options and metal construction for my 5" halo cans, but I'll be returning this and looking further. And while it fits a 5" jar, the oversized ring transforms the look into a 6" jar. The trim ring is 7-1/4" in diameter, too large for a 5" lamp. I have about 12 spotlights in my large family room and I want them all to look the same for years. But with such an integrated solution for lighting and decoration, every time the light goes out I have to look for an identical replacement device, even if it happens in 5-10-15 years. Looking back, a separate trim and lamp solution ensures that the look and feel of my trim is always the same throughout the room because the trim never needs to be replaced and I just have to find a new headlight bulb that matches the brightness and color temperature and other things jet propagation. The device seems well made, just not what I expected in terms of features.
