Review on Compact Horologe AM FM Pocket Radio: Portable Alarm Clock with Alarm, Radio, Stereo Mode & Battery Included by Wayne Gilbert

Before that I had a Sangean DT-120 which I was very happy to take with me to the stadium to listen to the radio broadcast of the baseball game live (streaming is far too delayed compared to AM/FM ). Unfortunately I left this radio in the cab to get out so I had to get something new. The holologe is definitely not as well built as the Sangean. The plastic feels a lot more brittle and the buttons are a little loose and seem to stop working eventually. Despite all this, it offers very good performance at a reasonable price. I particularly like that at about the same size as the Sangean (the Horologe is a bit wider and a bit taller, but not by much), you get a built-in speaker. Interestingly, the antenna for the horologe is built into the wrist strap. This seems to make sense, but may also mean a higher risk of breakage in the future. The Sangean and other portable radios I've used use the headphone cord as an antenna, which isn't as good but easier to replace. One last note: Programming the transmitters was a little annoying. Not only is the interface a bit complicated (read the manual), it also doesn't work half the time. I would have thought I programmed the station to do this only to find that for some reason it wasn't working and I had to repeat the process and test. But since this is usually a one-time task, it doesn't matter. Overall it's not the best radio out there, but it's reasonable and a very good deal for the size and price.
