I've had this product for about a month and have tested it extensively and at this point I can say it's a soldier. When I first got it, it did what it was supposed to do; turn on my xbox. And I can say on this occasion that if you play games or watch TV for a long time (6+ hours straight), this thing will not leave you indifferent. The noise level depends a lot on how loud your TV is, whether you wear good or bad headphones, and how often electricity is passed through them. About a week after I received it, it was raining very hard, to the point that a tree knocked the transformer off the telephone pole. And I lost my strength. This brick also did what it says on the box, protecting internal components from damage for the price. After that, when the rain stopped and everything was fine, when I turned on my Xbox, it made the loudest grinding noise I've ever heard from something so small BUT it turned on during the first boot of the machine. Once it booted up to the Xbox home screen, it reverted to the quieter buzz I was used to. After that the electricity in my apartment was cut off about 3 more times and I can say THIS THING WILL NOT BE ABOUT YOU! You might have to put up with a loud grinding noise when starting up, but otherwise this device is built to last and will keep hours of gaming and entertainment going. If you can handle a little noise, like a high-volume TV or a pair of really reliable headphones, then this thing is a bargain. And hey, buy a guarantee while you're at it. Just in case.
