A detailed overview of why you MUST buy this.

Read before you buy. I've had it for about a month and bought it as an easier and quicker way to clean up the kitchen after my dirty kids have eaten. I usually have to use the broom about 4 times a week and it gets boring very quickly. It's a great replacement, it's quick, easy, and does a surprisingly good job. People berate it for its poor battery life and lack of suction power, but keep in mind that this isn't a replacement for a big vacuum. As for the battery life - I used it 3-4 times before deciding to charge it; not because he died or lost power, just out of personal preference, and that's not an inconvenience at all. In terms of suction, it easily sweeps nickel-sized crumbs while still being able to pick up VERY small crumbs. This is a great electric broom to use in between spring cleaning. People also complain about the angled brushes, which the newer model doesn't have, but that hasn't stopped me from vacuuming up stuff that almost touched the baseboard - whatever narrower you need a proper broom/pan. We have a high kitchen table (pub style) with bar stools, so the fact that the stem flexes in half to get under something without injuring yourself by bending over was honestly the nicest feature. There is a button on the handle that allows you to do this, which is a great feature. Also, when I bought it, I found that the width (13 inches) was wide enough for the width of my barstool legs, so I didn't have to pull out the chairs to get under the table - the broom fits between legs (which you might know before buying should note). The pivot points on this broom are excellent, which you can easily get into any little corner (with the help of a shaft bend if necessary). There are also (2) modes on this broom, one for hard floors and one for carpet. I've only used it a few times on my carpet (moderately shaggy) to try and pick up a few things and it worked for what I needed at the time (it doesn't replace a vacuum). Although I often use it for our downstairs rugs. All in all, consider why people rate it so low and what they use it for - for me it was meant to remove leftover food (mostly) in the kitchen and it's been a great addition. I really like this product and would buy it again if it broke (can't beat the price). Why not 5 stars? Because nothing is 100% perfect and people are too quick to give 5 stars here (as I've found out the hard way sometimes).
