At first I was annoyed that there was no rudimentary stick in the kit, maybe just a short one in sections screwed together, whatever. But at least something. The photo in the instructions on the container shows a brush with a stick on it - more than deceptive. The size required is smaller than standard bars, so I couldn't use the ones I have. I got on my hands and knees and cleaned. Second, the powder comes out of the container both loose and in lumps, some the size of a small ball. I held the container sideways and tapped it lightly to release it, but it was the result nonetheless. I would suggest spreading the clumps (and powder) very gently over the carpet first so the powder doesn't become airborne. I did, and some of it ended up in the air (and in my eyes). There was no way to spread it evenly across the surface. In my case I cleaned an area of about 50 square meters and used about half spray and half powder. Almost the right amount for the claimed 100 sqm coverage. ft. I sprayed and powdered 2' x 2' areas as recommended, but in between I had to brush the carpet fibers off the brush, which I did. Hand. Not much extra work but what needs to be done to get the brush as clean as possible for the next area. I waited 1/2 hour after applying the first 2x2 foot area (test area) as instructed as a starting point. and then vacuumed. That time wasn't enough so I waited an hour for the rest. If I use this elsewhere in the house (and I probably will) I let it dry for at least a couple of hours. It was difficult to suck out all the power. My vacuum has a motorized brush and I very slowly combed small areas at a time. There was some residue after that too, so I vacuumed again later that day. The end result was that some of the very dirty areas (not really stained, just rubbed off dirt) improved, but not completely. I would say 50% better. It worked on some, but it wasn't the magic I was hoping would completely clear those areas. It's a decent product, but don't expect miracles. Some say it works wonders so good for them. Not so in my case. And it's not cheap. After the rest of what I have is gone I won't buy anything else.
