I've had one like this for 4 years and everything is fine. It was great right out of the box. I have a hot shot steam cleaner for deep sanitizing, but I usually just wash in Blue Dawn and rinse well with hot water. This one came with the smell of raw epoxy. I leave it uncovered in the sun for a few days. There was also a slight smell. I turned it upside down and after a few days it was finally rid of the smell and ready to use. I had to grind off a sharp edge on my lip that hurt my fingers. My Dremel grinder immediately removed the sharp ends. So I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't ready for a quick wash right out of the box. To update. After being placed in a cage, it still smelled and released an oily substance into the water. I aired it out in the sun for months and it was still leaking dirt into the water. In the end I had to give it up.
