I've heard bad things about HARTZ but I've noticed that if I'm ever wrong, most people exaggerate! When I unbuttoned the collars, I noticed a lot of powder, but I didn't find it unusual. I put them on cats and they were fine the first day. On the 2nd day the vomiting started. A cat throws up sometimes, but my cripple never throws up, so it was weird. By day 3, they were both lethargic. I picked up my male and felt an unpleasant chemical odor on the collar. I immediately took them off and threw them away. After a few hours, the cats revived. My wife was hungry and energetic, and my 15-year-old husband returned to his former moody and alert state. Thank God! I read a story about a cat that died from a blood clot after wearing this collar.
