Review on MANGANESE Microphone Computer Recording Adjustable by Jeff Remol

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not literally the cheapest I've used, but close.

The price saves, I bought it on sale for about 30 dollars and the material quality is probably a bit lower. Material Complaints: The clamp screw at the base of the lever is slightly worn and loosening. The arm isn't long enough to reach a large table (36") or a reasonably sized monitor (24"). The ring for hanging the microphone at the end of the support is made of plastic and quickly loses tension since the screw that holds it is metal and spontaneously loosens. The weight of the pop filter is too great for its own level of support, so it slowly falls off and needs to be adjusted throughout the day. Performance Complaints: Claims this is a condenser mic, which should pick up sound in front of you and reduce noise. the amount of background noise behind it. there is a lot of background noise behind it. Something behind seems to have the same intensity as in front, so it seems to be working closer to an omnidirectional or bidirectional mic. This isn't a problem if you can get close enough to it and/or limit the noise around it. I had to rearrange the table to reduce the amount of sound being picked up by the other electronics around it. Pros: Excellent value for money. It does what it says on the tin and is a perfectly working microphone and adjustable arm. No noticeable pops, hums or pops (I recommend replacing the included USB BA cable with a higher quality one). All the switches and controls work as expected and Spin and Click is a very easy setup. Windows recognizes it immediately and uses the standard Windows USB microphone drivers.

Pros
  • Not only usable for the intended purpose
Cons
  • There are disadvantages
