Review on 💻 VisionTek 1TB Thunderbolt 3 Portable External SSD - Intel Certified, Bus Powered, MacOS & Windows Compatible by Chris Kaul

The drive is lightning fast and more powerful than my Mac mini's internal drive. That is, if it stays connected. Unfortunately, the drive snaps out when the cable is bent in a certain way. I don't mean extreme curves. Simply bending the cable as shown in the product description will turn off the status light and turn off the drive. This is a real problem for me as I bought it to use as the boot drive for my 2018 Mac mini. I don't think it could be used as a portable drive as even a slight movement in the wrong direction will cause it to shut down. I also checked that it is a floppy drive and not a Mac mini port. The problem seems to be where the permanently attached cable enters the drive. I hope I just got the lemon as the rest of the reviews seem mostly positive and I love the little guy's speed. I ordered a replacement as I have a return time and will update this review if the new one doesn't suffer from this issue.
