my Asus ROG laptop and it's getting hot. In fact, it's so hot that it's uncomfortable to play on. The Nvidia cooler/card is on the left side, just above the WASD keys, making it impossible not to keep your hand there. If you look online you will find that GPUs run much hotter than CPUs. that means over 80 degrees Celsius. This is normal but you may feel hot. Therefore, these pads are essential if you play or use your computer outside of Facebook. This is the FIRST way that actually works! Its power is enough to pump some air into the system. You must set it to MAX and always have the path elevated and not flat. It's as loud as any other fan on the market, so don't believe in super-quiet stuff. If you want it to be quiet, reduce the vents to a minimum, but that will reduce airflow, so it doesn't work as well. However, "noise" is not a problem. If you are looking for a real way that gets the job done. buy this one.
