I just got my charger and the first time I plugged it in there was this piercing hiss. I don't know if this is normal or could indicate a future malfunction, but I'm hoping it's just a quirk that will work eventually as I've only just started using it. To be honest I'm afraid to leave my laptop alone while it's charging because I don't want it to catch fire or anything while I'm in another room. It only seems to make a high-pitched noise when the laptop is asleep, but it makes an almost entirely faint hiss when my laptop is awake. It does seem to charge my laptop though, so that's a good thing. I have Lenovo Idea 110.
