Well they were really cheap. Since I ONLY use them to smooth out wrinkles on the sides and back of the case, there's really no tugging or tugging coming from someone pacing. The FRONT of the case actually looked fine. And the Velcro on the leg pocket works MUCH better when woven around these straps! The velcro didn't really do anything until I pulled it up and hooked these fasteners into the bottom of the chair. So if you need something to take up the slack in the sides or back, these bottom hooks made a world of difference! ______________________________________ I got this because I bought an old but in relatively good condition armchair from my moving neighbors (at FIVE dollars, I couldn't pass it up). I think they kept it in a shed. But I cleaned it and it has good "bones" and I decided to just cover it up. My decor is mostly grey, black and with white walls so I went with gray (which I think is medium grey, it's definitely not charcoal) and not exactly LIGHT grey). BENEFITS: COST: That was important. I only paid five for a chair and didn't want to spend a fortune to pay for it and got it when it was 29.99 and the reviews were mostly good so I'm very happy with the price. EASY TO PUT ON: MUCH easier than I expected, yes you have to adjust, tuck here or there, but it's like a sheet that only fits a chair with armrests. There are seams here and there, and I could quickly see where the "wings" of the back tips went, where the arm seams were, etc - because the legs held down don't stretch it enough, and the back and sides look a bit like wrinkled elephant skin (I chose gray :-). As I have an older back, the arms are shorter than most newer ones, but even if they were taller there are areas I don't see as being absolutely perfect on most full-backs unless you secure them in place . There are SEAMS for armrests, backrests, cushions. BUT I don't care if the chair is obviously non-slip, a lot of people do and it never looks EXACTLY like it was sewn onto a piece of furniture. It looks almost perfect on the front, back and sides and I will be ordering these mattress straps to use UNDER a chair to stretch the fabric a bit and I think it will help. Elastic leg straps don't do much. ADHESION: VERY soft. The original fabric underneath is a nice velor-like fabric, like microfiber, but kind of limp and itchy. IT IS VERY SOFT and I am special. DURABILITY: I can't say anything about that yet. I didn't wash it and just put it on today. Due to the seams and relative thinness, I'd be wary of how hard you REALLY pull on the seams. DO YOU STAY AT YOUR PLACE? It doesn't fully expand, but after the guest sat in it for about an hour, one of the foam rubber tubes just surfaced and here it is on a chair. I don't use it often, I don't have kids, and my dog is more likely to jump on my bed than chairs, so it's more for company and when I'm reading in the living room. EVEN this little use, well these tubes are pretty much useless but they stay up pretty well and I just pull myself up a bit after I get up. I'm trying to find something HEAVY that won't tear the fairly thin fabric and will help hold it in place, but not a big deal for my minimal use. At the moment it at least matches the rest of the furniture in my living room, it's soft to sit on and all along with the purchase of this well made chair with wings, fabric cleaner to remove dust and dirt and a cover, I gave just over $40 instead more likely $400 for a new wing chair!
